Common or Highly Searched Questions about Cars
The most asked questions online about cars range from the very practical to the satisfying curiosity. At Pontiac Public Auto Auction, the questions we here often are “how do I bid at auction”, “what’s your selection of used cars”, and “how much money can I save?”.
Good questions we think!
Have you ever thought what questions others in Michigan and around the country are typing into Google about cars? Well here they are!
1. “Used Cars Near Me”
One of the most searched questions when it comes to cars, this one is easy for us to answer. Pontiac Auto Auction is located at 618 East Walton Blvd, Pontiac, Michigan 48430.
We had to have a plug in there. π Stop by and say hi! Inspect a car and prepare to bid.
2. “How Much is My Car Worth?”
Perhaps out of curiosity when managing your finances, or a practical question before a repair, it’s easy to understand why this one is searched by tens of thousands of people every month.
While there are tools out there such as Kelley Blue Book’s resource, or Car and Driver’s calculator, one way to find out not just how much it’s worth but what it will sell for is selling at auction.

3. “When Were Cars Invented?”
To answer that question, we return to Germany and France at the end of the 19th century. Carl Benz, Emile Lavassor, Gottlieb Daimler, and other very smart people are responsible for the automobile before the car began to take over the globe due to Henry Ford, the Assembly Line, and World War I.
The U.S. dominated the industry for decades, but now it’s Japan that makes many of the most popular makes and models.
Here’s a great article on the history of the car.
4. “How to Jump a Car?”
Another very practical search. There are tons of websites and videos that outline this.
You’ll need jumper cables! (since it gets very cold in Michigan, buy the thickest)
- Clamp the positive cable to the positive terminal of the failing battery. Clamp the other end to the strong battery.
- Clamp the negative cable to the negative terminal of the good battery and the other end to a clean metallic part of the engine.
- Start the car with the good battery and let the weak battery charge for a bit.
- Start the car with the bad battery.
5. “What is the Fastest Car in the World?”
[SPOILERS] The throne is consistently up for grabs. Top contenders usually have names that aren’t straightforward like Bugatti, Koenigsegg, and Hennessey, along with some newcomers.
Including the illegal for street use cars, the fastest is the Thrust SSC; 763 mph. Wow! It’s basically a rocket with a seat strapped to it. It broke the sound barrier on October 15, 1997. Not necessary on your way to work (well, actually…) π€
Multiple street-legal cars have gone faster than 300 miles-per-hour! The current king is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ which hit 304 mph.
Other models have logged faster speeds on the racing track, but they are limited to the track.
6. “What is the Most Expensive Car in the World?”
Another fun search. And the champ is not a hypercar or supercar from Bugatti, Lamborghini, Pagani, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, or Mercedes.
It’s the classic luxury brand, Rolls-Royce, and their handcrafted “Boat Tail”, rumored to have sold for $28 million to an undisclosed buyer. π€―
BTW, Rolls-Royce held the throne of most expensive car previously in 2017 when its “Sweptail” debuted.
7. “How to Draw a Car?”
Cars are so cool and drawing them is probably fun until I find out how bad I am at it.
As for us at Pontiac Auto Auction, we’ll stick to auctions and leave the drawing to you.
8. “How to Buy a Car?”
Now, we’re talking! In Pontiac, Michigan, we may not have the most luxurious or fastest cars on the lot, but our used cars will get the job done whether you’re heading to the desert, the city, or out of state.
