Lots of opinions floating out there, and some data as well. Engine Patrol lauds the 2010 Sierra model, for instance, as does Four Wheel Trends, and there’s usually praise for the 2012 GMC Sierra, and newer models.

Most of the GMC Sierra’s sold at Express are late 90s and early 2000s and certain of those models, like the 2006 GMC Sierra, as well as the 2005, 2004, 2003, and the 1998 models are all top tier.

But the models you really need to think twice about are the 2014, 2017, and the 2001, 2000, and 1999 GMC Sierra.

The 1999-2001 models were all plagued by a flood of brake troubles. 😰

Out of the Sierra’s sold by Pontiac Auto in recent months, the average price was $1,500 and mileage ranged from 120,000 to 360,000 miles. Would you believe the 120k Sierra sold for less?!
